Another Honors tradition continues this year as the plans for the annual Honors formal begin. Formal is a great way to dance away the stress of finals and take a break from studying with other hard-working Honors students before the spring semester comes to a close.
This event is a favorite for the members of the Honors Club Student Planning Board, according to Drew Mitchell, a co-chair for the event. He has attended two Honors Formals in the past, and he is excited to see how this year’s event will be even more fun for everyone involved.
Hillary Asberry, the second co-chair of Honors formal, said the event is in the Kentucky Museum on Saturday, May 5 from 7-10 pm. The evening will be filled with music and dancing, light refreshments and cake. The décor is elegantly themed with a color palette of silver, purple, and black. Cost for admittance to the Honors Formal is $6 per person, or $10 per couple. Tickets will be on sale in the lobby of the Honors College as well as the lobbies of each of the Honors residence halls in the weeks to come.
All Honors students are encouraged to take part in what is sure to be one of the most enjoyable Honors events of the semester. As the school year approaches its end, there is no better way to spend your remaining time on campus than making memories that will far outlive your college years.
