For Honors College students still looking for a colloquium course recruiting is ongoing for the class entitled Capturing the Innovative Spirit.
This course will be offered this winter term, the class tuition, books, room and board are covered by a grant from Innovate Kentucky. The professor, Executive-in-Residence Kris Schell, say that it will be “a very special experience.”
The class will focus on entrepreneurship, and according to Schell, students will learn to “awaken innovation” in themselves. He stresses that it is not necessary to have an entrepreneurial idea in order to enroll in the class as one of the objectives is to help students “become acquainted with how to present and organize resources to create economic gain.”
Schell says that he is looking forward to working with the Honors College and Gatton Academy students and that the colloquium format will be helpful in providing students with “feedback in real time” from their peers.
According to Schell, this class is the “perfect place for someone who wants to step outside his or her comfort zone in a safe and secure environment.”
If interested, students should contact Schell via email at firstname.lastname@example.org before Nov. 9.
